Although Credo Autoprieks Driving School lists several branches on its website, in reality it operates in Riga, Jūrmala and Jelgava. Presto Driving School operates throughout Latvia.
Credo Autoprieks Driving School teaches in Latvian and Russian. Presto Driving School, on the other hand, offers training in Latvian, Russian and English.
Theory
The combined in-person and distance learning data provided by CSDD show that at Credo Autoprieks Driving School 73,70% students passed the national theory exam on the first attempt. The result of Presto Driving School in the theory exam is the best in the country – 76,49%. The average result in this industry is 67,89%.
Since students most often prefer to study theory remotely, we invite you to view the CSDD chart that shows the results of distance learning platforms. Credo Autoprieks is the creator of the macam.lv distance learning platform through which its video training products are offered. The exam results of the Credo platform reach 66%. Presto Driving School provides distance learning through its own website, and its result curve on the chart is the highest – 86%.

Driving
At Credo Autoprieks Driving School 30,74% of students passed the national category B driving exam on the first attempt. Presto Driving School shows a better result – 29,85%. The national average result in this category is 37,24%.
In categories AM, A1, A2 and AM the Credo Autoprieks result is 11,11%. Presto Driving School also shows higher performance in these categories – 29,63% students passed the exam on the first attempt. The industry average is 49,19%.
In categories BE, C, CE, D at Credo Autoprieks Driving School 33,33% pass the national driving exam on the first attempt. The result of Presto Driving School is better – 66,67%. The national average in this field is 60,39%.
Conclusions
Credo Autoprieks Driving School shows weaker results in both theory and driving exams, and distance learning results are even lower than the combined in-person and distance learning statistics. It is clearly visible that Credo Autoprieks is inferior to Presto Driving School in training quality and also falls behind the national average.
Let us examine the level of service included in the price offered by the driving schools.
Both Credo Autoprieks Driving School and Presto Driving School allow registration, contract signing and payments remotely through their websites. However, on the Credo Autoprieks website only a category B contract sample is available, and the service price page referenced in the contract does not work, which is a major inaccuracy.
Both Credo Autoprieks and Presto Driving School have a well-developed call center and customer management system that allows them to serve students much more effectively throughout the training process.
The biggest difference lies in the driving lesson organization system. Credo Autoprieks Driving School has developed a very inconvenient and complicated system for students – the school issues codes to the student, which must be presented to the instructor to be allowed to attend the driving lesson. Electronically it is possible to register only for exams.
A Credo student is assigned to one instructor and must personally call to arrange training times. To change the instructor, it is necessary to contact the customer service department. Thus, there are administrative obstacles to changing instructors. All this has an explanation, which we will describe in the Costs section.
Presto Driving School, on the other hand, has created a convenient digital driving organization system that allows the student to organize their own learning process at a convenient time. The student chooses instructors independently and can freely change them without any explanations. Lessons can be booked and cancelled with one click. The meeting location for each instructor is indicated on the website. Such a system also promotes healthy competition among instructors competing for the student’s attention.
Credo Autoprieks Driving School very often organizes promotions, most often offering theory for EUR 1. Since the theory training results of Credo Autoprieks are low, it can be assumed that this amount reflects the actual value of theory training at this school.
Presto Driving School, as a socially responsible driving school, supports large families in Latvia and educational institutions. It does not run promotions at the expense of your costs or safety but instead offers students stable value – the best learning content in Latvia and a system for mastering it.
When discussing differences in driving school contracts, only a category B contract sample is available on the Credo Autoprieks website, but it contains inaccuracies – prices for the first aid course and medical certificate are not indicated and the link to all service prices does not work.
The Credo Autoprieks contract states that the student must cancel a lesson or exam 1 working day in advance to avoid losing the paid amount. Such a rule is disadvantageous for those whose plans suddenly change over the weekend and on the first working day.
Credo Autoprieks Driving School is the only school in Latvia that charges a penalty for late payments – 0.15% of the overdue amount. In other driving schools unpaid services are simply suspended, but at Credo Autoprieks you will still remain in debt.
The Credo Autoprieks contract is valid for only 1 year. Since driving training is valid for 3 years, if the training process takes longer you will pay EUR 20 for each additional year of service.
All category contracts are available on the Presto Driving School website and are accurate. Presto focuses on student convenience, therefore driving lessons can be cancelled 1 calendar day before the lesson without consequences. Presto students also receive a EUR 20 bonus if the instructor cancels the lesson at the last moment.
The Presto contract is valid for 3 years, so you will be able to use the entire period allocated for training without additional payments.
Both Credo Autoprieks Driving School and Presto Driving School charge EUR 20 for registration. The price of a repeated theory exam is also the same – EUR 15, but since theory training at Credo Autoprieks is weaker, there is a higher probability that you will need to retake the exam more often.
First aid courses at Credo Autoprieks Driving School cost EUR 60, which is EUR 5 more than at Presto, while the medical certificate costs EUR 35, which is EUR 1 more than at Presto – therefore the total difference is EUR 6.
At Credo Autoprieks you will have to pay a deposit of EUR 300, which is twice as high as at Presto. Due to market prices for driving lessons, expect an additional EUR 50–100. Presto’s first payment is EUR 150. After the deposit is used, each additional lesson can be purchased individually, which is much more affordable.
Now about the most important cost component – driving training. Credo Autoprieks does not have an electronic system for organizing driving lessons. There are also clear indications in the contract and on the website that Credo Autoprieks prioritizes assigning the student to one instructor. This means one thing – there is an agreement between the driving school and the instructor about “selling” the student to the instructor.
The instructor pays the driving school a certain amount for acquiring the client. In Latvia this ranges from EUR 40 to 165, while in Riga it is EUR 100–165. This means that in order to recover this money the instructor will artificially extend the training process so that you must book more lessons and therefore pay more.
Furthermore, being tied to one instructor means waiting for that instructor’s availability – sometimes busy, sometimes sick. As a result training will take longer and require more lessons because progress will be slower.
Additionally, as already mentioned, theory training at Credo Autoprieks is weaker, so part of it will need to be learned during driving lessons. Although the contract recommends starting driving lessons after the fifth theory class, they will still be combined. This means additional time and costs estimated at EUR 80–120 (2–3 additional lessons).
Some Presto instructors also cooperate with Credo Autoprieks and report that a large portion of payment is made to instructors in cash. We emphasize that this is illegal and violates Cabinet Regulation No. 358, which requires all payments to be made through the driving school.
CSDD and the police conduct joint inspections to catch dishonest instructors. The penalty is revocation of the instructor’s license and cancellation of your training. Regardless of how the instructor encourages you to take this risk together, remember that this offer benefits ONLY the instructor personally and such dishonest practices will waste your time, money and progress.
We encourage reporting such cases to CSDD and the State Revenue Service (VID) to protect yourself and others. Your rights matter, and official payments are the best way to ensure training quality and keep instructors within a supervised system.
In summary, Credo Autoprieks Driving School lacks an electronic driving organization system and prioritizes assigning students to a single instructor, effectively selling the student to the instructor who will try to recover their payment at your expense by prolonging training. Additionally, theory will have to be learned during driving lessons, which again increases costs.
Based on official state exam statistics, differences in training quality, driving lesson statistics in Riga, Jūrmala and Jelgava, the different driving organization system of Credo Autoprieks and limited practical training opportunities, it can be concluded that you may overpay up to EUR 300 in category B compared with Presto Driving School and spend at least one additional month.
Credo Autoprieks Driving School offers a review section on its website where anyone can leave a comment without registration. Such reviews cannot be considered fully reliable. On the Presto Driving School website reviews can only be posted after registration, meaning only real users can write them. This ensures authenticity and credibility, which can be verified by contacting the authors of reviews on social media.
