Driving school books are an essential tool in the driver training process. These books are not only the main source of information about the Road Traffic Regulations but also help create a deeper understanding of their practical application, i.e., in real driving situations.
To make it easier to distinguish new driving school books from the old ones, they are printed in different colors – the latest Road Traffic Regulation books are orange. Of course, even books that are 10 years old are not technically incorrect and can still be used for studying, but it must be taken into account that they will not be complete and will not reflect the latest regulations and laws, nor will they include the questions that may appear on the CSDD theory exam or in practical driving situations.
On January 1, 2016, the new Road Traffic Regulations came into force. Their goal is to improve road traffic safety, paying particular attention to vulnerable road users, as well as to introduce new rules necessary for road safety improvement and to harmonize the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulations with the amendments to the National Standards on road signs and road markings.
The books are published in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 279 of June 2, 2015. The current set consists of three books – “Road Traffic Regulations. Road Traffic Law,” “Road Signs and Markings,” and “Thematic Exercises in Road Traffic Regulations.” At Presto Driving School, these books can be purchased at a better price than in bookstores. The books are available in both Latvian and Russian.
