You can check the expiration date of your medical certificate online in the e-CSDD system.
The penalty for driving without a valid medical certificate equals the penalty for driving without a driver’s licence – once the medical certificate has expired, the driver’s licence is suspended until the driver undergoes a repeated medical examination; in addition, a fine of 40 EUR is applied
