5. PRACTICAL TRAINING PROCEDURE

Organisation of driving instruction

5.1. Driving instruction is organised electronically via the DRIVING SCHOOL’s website presto.lv.

5.2. In accordance with Section 2, upon receipt of the initial payment, the STUDENT’s e-account balance is credited with EUR 200.00 for booking driving lessons. Additional payments are made as per Section 3.

5.3. The STUDENT selects the desired lesson time and instructor (taking into account the instructor’s price list) and confirms.

5.4. If the STUDENT cannot attend a driving lesson, they must cancel no later than 24 hours before the start; otherwise, the prepaid amount for the lesson is not refunded to the e-account balance.

5.5. The instructor has the right to cancel the booked lesson up to 12 hours before the start. In such a case, the lesson fee is refunded to the STUDENT’s e-account balance. If the cancellation occurs less than 12 hours before, the DRIVING SCHOOL compensates the lesson fee and credits an additional EUR 20.00.

5.6. Funds deposited in the e-account may be used only for booking driving lessons.

Conduct of driving lessons

5.7. Before starting practical driving instruction, the STUDENT presents the instructor with the CSDD driver’s permit and the driving instruction logbook.

5.8. The STUDENT brings the driving instruction logbook to each lesson (issued by the DRIVING SCHOOL at the office or by the instructor). The instructor records the date and activities completed.

5.9. After completing the 7 minimum practical driving lessons (14 academic hours) specified in the Regulations, based on the STUDENT’s performance and readiness for the CSDD exam, the instructor informs the STUDENT about the need for additional lessons or refers them to the DRIVING SCHOOL’s practical exam.

Driving school practical exam

5.10. The DRIVING SCHOOL practical exam may be taken only after passing the DRIVING SCHOOL theoretical course — a record is made in the presto.lv profile.

5.11. The organisation and payment of the DRIVING SCHOOL practical exam is the same as for any driving lesson, selecting an instructor with whom no lessons have been taken. Otherwise, it is treated as a regular driving lesson, and the instructor may not mark the completion of practical instruction.

5.12. Upon arrival, the STUDENT informs the instructor of their wish to take the exam instead of a lesson. If successfully passed, the examiner fills out the protocol in the presto.lv profile, which confirms completion of practical training.

5.13. After the exam, the protocol is available in the "Documents" section of the STUDENT’s profile. The exam results may be appealed within 5 days by submitting a written claim to the DRIVING SCHOOL.

5.14. Within 5 business days after passing the exam, the data is entered into the CSDD database. This allows the STUDENT to take the CSDD practical exam, for which the STUDENT receives an informative email.

6. DISTANCE LEARNING

Theoretical training procedure

6.1. Theory courses are conducted remotely using the Cisco Webex video presentation tool.

6.2. The STUDENT ensures full participation in distance learning with camera and microphone capability provided by the computer or phone (built-in or peripheral devices), as well as sufficient internet bandwidth; otherwise, attendance will not be recorded.

6.3. The link to each session will be available in the STUDENT’s profile under "Theory schedule" next to each lesson date. Links are not sent by email!

Reviewing the presto.lv profile in advance will facilitate connection before the session and reduce unnecessary stress.

6.4. The STUDENT should join on time (10–30 minutes before the start) to avoid last-minute technical issues. In case of problems, the STUDENT immediately contacts the DRIVING SCHOOL administration at +371 28813188 and info@presto.lv.

6.5. Before entering the virtual training room via the link, the STUDENT indicates their name, surname, and email. The details must match those in the Agreement.

6.6. The instructor begins with marking attendance in the DRIVING SCHOOL and CSDD attendance logs.

6.7. Sessions are recorded for control. The STUDENT hereby consents. The video is stored for no more than one (1) month.

6.8. Distance theoretical training is conducted during a government-declared state of emergency. After it ends, training will be conducted in person at the selected branch.

6.9. The STUDENT is prohibited from sharing information that allows third parties to participate in distance learning.

Absences from the theory course

6.10. For each session, the DRIVING SCHOOL has access to data generated by the video platform — day, time of entry, time of exit, duration. If the DRIVING SCHOOL notes an absence longer than 10 minutes, a “Left the session” note is recorded in the attendance logs. A theory lesson is considered attended only if the STUDENT has participated and listened to all scheduled instruction sessions that day.

6.11. The STUDENT registers a make-up session electronically via presto.lv, selecting the branch, date, and time. Registration in CSDD occurs within 3 working days, after which the STUDENT receives a confirmation email. Only after receiving this email is the STUDENT permitted to attend the selected session.

6.12. If the STUDENT cannot attend the scheduled make-up session, they must cancel no later than 48 hours before the start; otherwise, the amount paid will not be refunded.

Administration of the online examination

6.13. The DRIVING SCHOOL theoretical exam is organized electronically via presto.lv. In-person examination at the Riga Central District branch may occur only as an exception, by prior registration via +371 28813188 or info@presto.lv.

6.14. The STUDENT is admitted to the theoretical exam if all obligations to the DRIVING SCHOOL are settled and a valid medical certificate and first aid certificate are presented.

6.15. The theoretical exam may be taken once per day and consists of 30 questions. Only one error is allowed; otherwise, the exam must be retaken.

6.16. For remote exams, Cisco Webex (phone camera) and AnyDesk (remote execution on the DRIVING SCHOOL’s computer) are used. Both a phone and a computer are required.

6.17. The STUDENT receives an invitation to the remote exam at the email specified in the Agreement with time and link. The link must not be shared.

6.18. Before entering the virtual exam room, the STUDENT must enter their full name and email again. These must match the Agreement.

6.19. In the exam room, the STUDENT positions the phone so the examiner can clearly see them from the front without obstructing the exam. The STUDENT must not look away from the monitor, turn away, leave, converse (except with the examiner), or perform unrelated actions. Upon request, the STUDENT shows the room to ensure integrity.

6.20. The STUDENT presents a passport or ID card. The examiner confirms readiness to begin.

6.21. The examiner asks the STUDENT to launch AnyDesk and provides a numeric connection code via chat to enter in AnyDesk. After connection approval, the STUDENT begins the exam on the CSDD website.

6.22. Failure to comply with any provision of this section entitles the examiner to terminate the exam, informing the STUDENT of the reason (first instance — warning; second — disqualification). The exam is not credited and must be retaken in accordance with the Agreement.

6.23. Upon completion, a DRIVING SCHOOL representative informs the STUDENT of the result.

6.24. If the STUDENT cannot participate in the theoretical exam, they must cancel no later than 24 hours before the start; otherwise, the fee is not refunded to the e-account balance.

6.25. The DRIVING SCHOOL issues the training card and enters data into the CSDD database within 5 business days, after which the STUDENT can take the CSDD theoretical exam. The STUDENT receives an informative email.

6.26. The exam is recorded on video. The STUDENT hereby consents. The recording is stored for no longer than one (1) month.

First Aid courses (if applicable)

6.28. The STUDENT ensures full participation with a functioning camera and microphone via computer or phone (built-in or peripheral). Otherwise, attendance will not be recorded.

6.29. The STUDENT receives an invitation by email. If not received at least 48 hours before the start, the STUDENT must immediately contact the DRIVING SCHOOL.

6.30. The STUDENT should join early (10–30 minutes before the start) to avoid technical issues. In case of difficulties, contact +371 28813188 or info@presto.lv.

6.31. Before entering the virtual class, the STUDENT enters their full name and email. The data must match the Agreement.

6.32. The instructor begins by marking attendance in the attendance log.

6.33. If the STUDENT cannot attend the First Aid course, they must cancel no later than 48 hours before the start. Otherwise, the fee will not be refunded.

6.34. Persons with secondary or higher medical education or currently enrolled in such educational institutions are exempt.

6.35. After the theoretical part, the DRIVING SCHOOL sends information on the place and time of the practical part. The STUDENT acknowledges that this may be delayed until the end of a state of emergency and will not raise claims. After completing the practical part, a certificate is issued immediately.

7.5. If either party terminates the Agreement early, payments made by the STUDENT will not be refunded, except as provided in Clause 8.2, and access to the system will be revoked.
